What we keep, and what we do not.
Short version: nothing is sold, nothing is shared, and nothing is measured unless you say yes.
Cookies
The site sets one cookie, and only if you press Accept on the analytics banner: alb_analytics_consent, which records that you said yes and lasts a year. If you decline, or ignore the banner, nothing is written and the banner asks again next time.
Your theme choice — light, dark or follow-my-device — is kept in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, and never leaves your machine. With nothing stored the site follows your device.
Analytics
With consent we load Google Analytics to see which listings people look for, so the directory gets more useful. IP addresses are anonymised, and advertising, ad personalisation and ad-user-data storage stay switched off. Without consent the Google script is never requested at all — not loaded and blocked, simply never asked for.
Where you are
The header shows roughly where you are reading from, and the map opens on your state when we have people listed there. That is worked out at our host's edge from the connection you arrive on — your browser is never asked for permission, no third party is involved, and the answer is not written down anywhere. Reload and it is worked out again from scratch.
The directory itself
Listings are business details that owners asked us to publish, or that we checked before adding. The submission form sends what you type to us and nowhere else. If you are listed and want a detail changed or the whole entry removed, write to hello@bitproject.dev and it is done — no form, no delay.
Changing your mind
You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser and the banner will come back as if you were here for the first time.
